More Embellishments

Die Cut Shapes

Stationery Works has an extensive die cut library, which offers unique opportunities to express creativity and individuality, strengthen an event's aesthetic, or reflect its theme. Many of our shapes are available in multiple sizes and can be utilized across a suite of various cards. Please note that several of our die cuts may limit edge treatment options. Alternatively, we can develop a new, custom silhouette using our digital shapes. These shapes are exclusively compatible with digital printing and must be smaller than an A2 card (5.5" x 4.25"). Should you require a larger shape or wish to use a print method other than digital, we are able to create custom dies. 

Edge Treatments

We offer a variety of edge treatments, including paint, foil, beveling, and hand tearing.  You can add a vibrant touch with edge paint, available in numerous colors from our in-house paper and ink swatches. We also provide multi-color options, including ombre, and the flexibility to select a custom Pantone color for an additional charge.  Foil edges lend a reflective sheen to the edge of a card, with a foil palette that complements many of our foil stamping colors.  We are able to cut the edges of cards at an angle to create a distinctive frame around each piece. These bevel edges are available in Standard (65 degrees) or Luxury (45 degrees) finishes. Bevel edges can be left uncolored, which effectively highlights colored middle layers, or they can be painted or foiled.  It is important to note foil and bevel edging increases production time. Finally, we offer hand-torn edges, which impart an artisanal feel to single ply papers in the Classic or Grand card categories.

Embossing

Embossing can elevate any card by adding a unique tactile and visual element that creates a sense of luxury.  We provide a variety of pre-converted and semi-custom embossings, including frames in numerous sizes and various motifs. Pre-converted embossings require printing on white, pearl, or cream paper and are not compatible with digital ink. Conversely, semi-custom embossings can be applied to any Price Code 1 paper and can be combined with any print method. Additionally, we offer custom embossing, which presents an excellent opportunity to highlight text or an element that is personal to the client and their event.

Portfolios & Pockets

We offer a diverse selection of pocket and portfolio styles designed to effectively organize and hold companion cards. These pieces can be customized using digital, thermography, letterpress, or foil printing to provide additional color and texture to your order. Furthermore, our portfolios are an excellent option for creating a sophisticated presentation for mounted invitations.

Specialty Folds

We offer a variety of specialty folds designed to enhance your stationery or card orders. Our most common folds can be ideal for a classic look on stationery and holiday cards. They are frequently used around invitations to create a memorable experience by concealing the main message until opened. They can be used to present extensive information on a single, cohesive piece. We also offer "design specific" fold styles, which can be viewed and are priced within our Collections.

Belly Bands

Belly bands are paper strips that encircle invitations, often used to secure and organize companion cards.  These bands can be elevated and personalized through various processes such as printing, die-cutting, embossing, and mounting between layers. They can be produced from either text weight or cover weight paper. To ensure pristine condition upon arrival, all belly bands are shipped flat and unassembled (no tape). Text weight bands are delivered unscored, whereas cover weight bands are scored for ease of assembly.

Ribbons

Whether you are tying the knot, sending holiday wishes, or celebrating a milestone, ribbons are a great way to polish a design. They can add cohesion across a suite, add a fun pop of color, or add an element of sophistication. Our in-stock ribbons complement our invitation suites, and supplying ribbon is always an option. Our ribbons can be tied through drilled holes, mounted, or tied around a card. You can even finalize the look by adding a tag to the ribbon.

Other

Our additional embellishments include corner rounding, the application of crystals, brads and grommets, hole drilling, and perforating. Corner rounding, available in 1/8", 1/4", and 1/2" increments, can elegantly soften the aesthetic of a card. For an added touch of sparkle, we offer 4mm Swarovski crystals in clear, iridescent, and red. Brads and grommets, available in various shades of gold, silver, and black, are ideal for securing up to three pages while maintaining flexibility, which is particularly beneficial for vellum overlays. Hole drilling is a convenient option for clients who wish to incorporate their own ribbons or tassels, and we are able to drill these holes to facilitate assembly. Perforating involves creating small, precise holes in the paper, enabling easy separation of card stock by simply folding or tearing.
